Governance:Sibford is one of 7 Quaker Schools in England and a member of Friends’ Schools Council (FSC). It is a company limited by guarantee, incorporated in 1997. Historically the school was owned by three ‘Owning Meetings’ which, each June, appointed representatives to Sibford General Meeting. The purpose of this General Meeting is to lay down the rules by which the school is governed, and also to appoint Members of School Committee (the Governing Body and Trustees) who monitor the running of the school. Sibford General Meeting is still held each year. At this meeting, school officers present an annual report and the school accounts and hope to strengthen links between the School and the Society of Friends. However, the long term strategic management of the school is now in the hands of School Committee, which meets more regularly and devolves some of its functions to the Head. School Committee - The Governing BodyThis body is made up of members of the Society of Friends, one representative of the Sibford Old Scholars Association and one parent representative. Members are appointed for terms of four years. The Head, Deputy Head, Business Manager and attenders from the school staff may attend meetings of the full Committee and its sub groups, though the Committee Clerk (the Quaker equivalent of Chairman) reserves the right for the Committee to meet without some or all of the school staff being present. Any correspondence with School Committee should in the first instance be made to the Clerk – Seren Wildwood, Sibford School., Sibford Ferris, Banbury, Oxon OX15 5QL.
