Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme

The Duke of Edinburgh scheme (known to most as D of E). Mike and Penny Spring are the Award Leaders at Sibford.

Bronze Award - takes place for Year 10 on Thursday evenings between 4.15pm and 5.30pm (staff: Mike Spring, Penny Spring and Simon Baker). Each pupil goes on two 2-day expeditions in the summer term.
Year 9 pupils may begin to fulfil some parts of the Bronze Award, but there are no expeditions until Year 10.

Silver Award - takes place, usually, once a week in the spring/summer term, with two 3-day expeditions, one during the summer term and one at the beginning of the summer holidays.

Gold Award - we can cover some of the requirements for a Gold Award at Sibford. Two 4-day expeditions would happen with approved groups from outside school.

If you have any questions about, or are interesting in doing one of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Schemes, please ask either Mike or Penny Spring.

Maths

Try this link www.nrich.maths.org/public/ for some fun with maths

When it comes to mathematics, Edward is top of the class. He has been awarded a merit in The World Class Tests which puts him at the top five percent of students in the UK.

The tests require students to apply creative thinking and logic by demonstrating their ability to process and respond to unfamiliar information and communicate their thought process coherently.
